_Incorporating History, Culture, and Hospitality: Lahore, the Second Capital of Pakistan_
Lahore, also known as the ‘Heart of Pakistan’, is a city in the province of Punjab with a sense that carries all the national historical and cultural wealth. The ancients city fortified along the banks of Ravi River has all the amenities that any civilization would leave behind including architecture, cultures, and even their local distinct cuisines.
While strolling in the maze of narrow streets in Lahore, one is taken back in time. From the breathtaking Mughal structures such as the Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque, which loom above the skyline, boasting of emperors and conquests made, to the Wazir Khan Mosque, where both the exquisite tile work and the calligraphy on the walls speaks of the artistic prowess the city possesses.
But looking through the lens of tangible heritage, one has barely scratched the surface of what the city has to offer. The city full of activities, from the lively Anarkali and Liberty markets to the high-end fashions in Gulberg and Defence. The mouth-watering smells of kebabs and halwa puri fills the air of this city making it impossible for one to resist the food this city has come to be famous for.
The cultural life of Lahore is also on the move. It has many events and celebrations like Basant kite season, Baisakhi, and a number of festivals across the year. The artistic treasures of the city are presented in the Lahore Museum and the National College of Arts.
